New school or insecure about pending new arrival?

Your sleep has been terribly disturbed over the past 2 weeks.  You would wake every 2-3 hours and then crying to sleep with us on our bed, or wanting us to sleep with you.  The major changes has been you starting school and anticipating the arrival of the baby.  We don't know which it is.  You do say you like school when asked and talk about your new friends there (mostly girls again).  Interestingly in the day time, you repeatedly ask Richard or me whether we are happy and is constantly saying that you love us, and asking to kiss us.  You also always ask to kiss the baby.  Afraid that you will be 'replaced'?

I'm confused and not sure what's caused this sudden disruption in sleep and really hope that it's a passing phase.  It's hopefully not the baby as she's not even here yet!!

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of snow when we woke up on Saturday morning.  I was really happy as Ric missed playing snow with Isaac and here's the opportunity!!  I didn't do any of the manual work this time :)

Isaac however much preferred snowball throwing and again didn't want to come back into the house.

28 weeks

We had another peak of the baby again today.  We wanted to make sure it was a girl, and also to get an idea of who you looked like.  It's definitely going to be pink this time around, but unfortunately baby was very camera shy.  Could only get a single decent 3D picture which was a little disappointing.  Your hands and feet were all over your face.  I remember your brother was exactly the same at this gestation, not showing his face at all, and I had to ask for another scan.  So, I'll try again in 2 weeks.  You're very active now, and hopefully you'll move into a better position.

Nothing and Nobody

These seem to be your favourite words when you enter a 'mood'.  Conversations will then go like this:
Me:  'Isaac, what did you do today?'
Isaac: 'Nothing'

Me: 'What do you want to do now?'
Isaac: 'Nothing'

Me: 'Did you play with anybody today?'
Isaac: 'Nobody'

Snow a month late

You have been waiting for the day to build a snowman for a long time!!  It finally came a month after Christmas.  It was like a blizzard and the snow stayed.  So much so that the school called to say it was closing early.  Thankfully I could finish early and we made our first snowman in our garden :)  It was no easy feat and super tiring!!  It was freezing cold but despite this refused to come back to the house.  Interestingly the snowdog was your idea.  You also mentioned making a snow angel but there was no way I was lying down in that cold snow.  Let's see if we can build a 'snow family' tomorrow.

Starting Young?

You came back with this folder in the first week of your pre-school.  Thank God it was only reading a storybook and making a drawing.  Hhmm... Hope it doesn't get more than this.

Settling in pre-school

Thankfully you did not even ask Richard to stay back on your first day in the new school and just wandered in.  We went to pick you up together and you were really happy running around.  You seem to have really enjoyed yourself the past few days.  But my heart melted when I heard this was what you said today after Richard picked you up:
Ric: Did you have a good day today Isaac?
Isaac:  I want to go back to the nursery with the trains and toys.  I don't want to go to big boy school anymore.
Ric: Why?
Isaac: I***(his best friend in nursery) said she love me but she can't go to big boy school with me

Awww.... how do you explain to a kid about moving on? I suppose the excitement of a new environment has passed.  You do mention names of your new classmates and hopefully you'll make new friends soon!!
