The alphabet song

This seems to be your favourite song now. You start singing when you see any letters :)

This is what you were asking us all to look at - letters

Nursery celebrations

I took a day off so that you could share a cake with your nursery mates. Unfortunately it was a Monday and so not all your friends were there (didn't put photos of your friends here just in case their parents don't like it). I stayed for your teatime and it was an eye-opener for me to see you so independent. You ate all on your own and there was no fuss. What I really like bout the nursery is that they sing a song thanking God for the food before meals, and they teach you all to brush teeth after food. All's good with the nursery :)

You're so blessed

The best part is always opening presents. You thoroughly enjoyed the gifts with your friends and us. Guess who had most fun with the remote control car?

Happy 2nd Birthday

Planning your party was not the easiest with taking care of you, working full time and applying for subspecialty training (closing date a day before your party) all at the same time. Thank God it all went smoothly and we had a GREAT time, especially you.

To begin with, you were already having lots of attention from both 'sam yi' and 'sai yi' and was hyper-excited. You loved the balloons, and was very impressed by '2' (unfortunately did not video the hype with it).

When you saw the cake, you were ecstatic and kept saying 'choo-choo', 'choo-choo', and wanted to pick it up!! You probably thought it was the biggest toy train you have ever seen. I was really impressed by the finishing of the cake and am going to call the shop to thank them. It was an exact replica of 'Wilson', and could not have asked for it to be better.

The highlight and funniest moment of the day was your candle blowing. There was no such thing as 'making a wish'. You kept blowing the candle the moment it was lighted. You were so swift, quick and accurate (flame went off every time, except the last) that we had to light the candle again and again (probably 4-5x). It was hilarious.

Cake cutting

Thank God for the past 2 years and for the joy and blessing that you have been to us and everybody around. I pray that we will continue to have the wisdom and strength to bring you up to be a man of God and to be the best at what God intended for you to be.

Blue Planet Aquarium

We exchanged Tesco vouchers for tickets to Blue Planet Aquarium and decided to visit last weekend. I wished I could have said it was a fantastic day out. Unfortunately to you (and also to us), a fish was a fish regardless of the species, shape, colour or size (OK, you were initially impressed by the big fishes and said 'BIG FISH'). After a while, you were really bored. We expected to spend at least half a day there and in the end, we were there for only a couple of hours. The best part was the large aquarium and the 'show' with divers feeding sharks.

Like father like son?
Poor 'Nemo' was really trying hard to entertain, and you refused a photo with him

5th Wedding anniversary

There were many volunteers to babysit (Ming and Jia their other halves as they were here for your birthday party) so that we could have a romantic night-out but they were all turned down. Ever since you've come into our lives, 'we' of just Richard and I feels a little weird. So, WE ALL (6+1) went out for a nice dinner. Our gift to each other was a digital piano.

I really thank God for all the years of blessing, and pray that our lives together will get better each year...

This is the best shot we managed after countless attempts

The phase of 'Too'

These have been your latest views and comments

When we switch on the TV or radio,
Isaac: 'Too loud, too loud'

When sitting in the car seat,
Isaac: 'Too fast, Dada'

When in the bathtub,
Isaac: 'Too hot, mummy, too hot'

After turning the tap on to wash hands/brush teeth,
Isaac: 'Too cold, too cold'

When hearing us speak,
Isaac: 'Too loud dada'

And the extremes of 'too' goes on :)

'Bye Mummy'

Nights have always been tough on the both of us, as we miss each other terribly. As you understand more things and communicate better, it is even more heart wrenching when I leave for nights. Thankfully you are sensible, and understand that I have to work. You will fuss a little, but after an explanation, you will go to your dada and say 'Bye Mummy, mummy work'. My heart really melts and this is when for a few hours, I consider if going to work is the right thing to do. Well, we do have the weekend thereafter to catch up :)

New toy

Your indoor slide arrived a few weeks ago!! As usual, you were totally excited with new things and didn't want to eat initially but I managed to 'bargain' with you: No eat, No slide :) Trying to put it together was not as easy as I thought, although the instructions were straight-forward. Plastic pieces just don't slide together easily. You entertained yourself and us while waiting for the slide to be ready, and tried your best at helping us fix it.

It seemed sturdy as it took Richard's weight too :) You're a little monkey as your first slide down, and even now, prefer to slide face down, and walk up the slide.
