Developments

It's not the easiest trying to get you to colour or do activity books for more than 10 minutes.  Why do kids have such short attention span (except when they are on the iphone or ipad)?  However, you do like joining numbers and love matching activities.  Lots of credit goes to gong gong and popo who were really patient in teaching you lots while they were here.  You can nearly write your name, count to 100 and do extremely simple addition like 1+2, 2+2.  Now that they have gone back, I need to try and keep up the good work, but it is difficult.

A week before your third birthday, you learnt to float on your own with arm bands!!  It was amazing watching you try to 'swim' without holding on to Ric or me.  Every time you let go, you would 'panic' a little by excessively kicking and moving your hands and Richard had to keep reminding you to slow and calm down, quite funny.

Last of summer - Hilbre Island

We tried to make the most of weekends before it became freezing cold.  So, a few weeks ago, a few familes including us went to West Kirky beach and we all walked across to Hilbre Island (about a mile away) at low tide.  Fun, but extremely tiring!!

The long walk begins

Finally at Hilbre Island

This is how we got you there ;)

Smart remarks

Richard:  Isaac, I am the fat controller (station master from Thomas the Tank)
Isaac:  NO!! You don't have a hat!
Me:  OK, Mummy is the fat controller then.
Isaac:  NO!! You are not a boy! You cannot be fat controller

After finishing the bread for feeding ducks in the park
Isaac:  There's no more bread for you now, ducks,  BYE!!
(we had quite a few smiles from passerbys)

After an episode of 'Octonauts'
Richard: I am a beluga whale
Isaac: You are not big enough!!

When we ask you to do something or when it's near bed time, your replies are:
'I'm not ready yet' or 'In a minute' or 'It's not time yet' or 'I need to do ___ first', coming up with all sorts of excuses.

A walk in the park is entertaining as you give us a walking commentary of everything that is going on, which really put smiles on our faces.

The beauty of our own garden

There has been no regrets of moving to this home.  For one, it is MUCH warmer.  It is also amazing to finally have our own garden.  I did have great plans of wanting to have our own vegetable patch and grow flowers to teach Isaac some 'responsibilities' but all that has been delayed.  My excuse is that it is too late to start anything now as autumn and winter are on its way :)  The garden has however been put to good use with ball kicking nearly everyday, occasional water gun fights and cycling for you.

10 green bottles

For a period of time, this was your favourite song and everything was a 'bottle'.  You even lined up all the soap and shampoo bottles along the bathtub and knocked 1 down at a time and sang during bath time.

Till the next trip :)

We also had our first BBQ in our new home and had a few families over.  Definitely not a house warming yet as the house (until today) is not totally unpacked :)  But, we should enjoy the garden before summer ends.

A week after that, we had to say bye bye to gong gong and popo as they flew back to KL.  Thank you for all your help!!  We are sure it will be soon before we meet again :)

Grosvenor Park - One month ago

I can't believe the blog has been dormant for a month!!  But, this blog is our journey as a family so although this is a month later, here it is :)

We went to Grosvenor Park the last weekend that gong gong and popo were here.  There was a miniature railway there which included a replica of Thomas and a small Toby ride.  I don't think I need to emphasize how much fun you had that day.  Plus, the weather was GORGEOUS!!

The olympic fever was still ongoing and you were obsessed and loved to 'ready, get set, GO!!' for everything.
