Sun, Sea and Sand for a day

Your grip on the 'seat belt' on the boat journey

We always look forward to the beach when we go back to KK.  We thought we'll be there every other day but unfortunately brought the rain with us from UK back to KK as it rained every evening, EXCEPT the day we made a trip to Pulau Manukan.  Even on that day, it rained in the city, but the sun was thankfully shining on the island.  It was difficult to initially get you on to the sand as previous times, and then it became difficult to get you to leave.

Green peace activist in the making

You have always loved sea creatures (perhaps influenced by Octonauts?).  So you were excited about all the different fish, crabs, shells, and prawns in a seafood restaurant in Malaysia.

This is mouth watering for most of us.  BUT, when you saw this, you cried 'I WANT PRAWNS TO SWIM!!' again and again and cried and cried, refusing to eat and wanting to bring the prawns back to the tank.  Richard had to bring you to the tank and explain that 'black prawns' swim, and 'orange prawns' are for eating, going to and fro the dinner table and the tank to demonstrate that there were still life prawns available  :)  When the fish came, you cried 'I don't want to eat fish with eyes', although not with as much distress as with the prawns.

Saying this, you ate 8 prawns at dinner (all without the head of course) and said you love to eat prawns ;)

'Yee Yi's' wedding

We flew back to Malaysia for the 2nd time this year for Yee Yi's wedding.  As usual, you had the time of your life playing and getting pampered by everybody back in Malaysia.  It was 'take 2' for being the page boy and this time around, you did walk down the aisle after some coaxing.  Perhaps you were older?

Unfortunately I do not even have a single photo of the wedding, so will be eagerly awaiting the official photographs!!

On the move again

This was our 3rd move in Liverpool, and hopefully this will be 'it' as it's our own home again :) The attachment to the rented flat was not very strong, and saying goodbye was quite easy, compared to when we moved from our previous flat.  Maybe it was because we only stayed there for just over a year.

Bye bye Seafarers Drive

It was a challenge moving to the new place, then be on nights, and then fly to Malaysia for a holiday within a week of moving.  Hence, it's still going to be a few weeks before we get to enjoy coffee in the conservatory :) However, as this is the first time we're staying in landed property in the UK, our clothes got to 'enjoy' getting air-dried in the sun for the first time.
You enjoying the TV while I try to unpack as much as I can

Few days of summer

It so far seems like the end of May was the only summer we will be having.  Those few days were really good and hot where we could sit out in T-shirt and shorts.  It was bad for the diet though as we had a few days of McDs in a row to 'picnic'.  You however were more than happy with nuggets and eat up to 8 pieces at one go!

Back to LWH

Middle of May saw the end of travelling everyday to Chester.  Time does really fly as I've been doing it for 18 months!!  So far, I am totally enjoying my new training in fetal and maternal medicine.  Quite a steep learning curve with lots of reading to do, but at least it allows me to sleep an extra 30 mins in the morning, and I get to pick you up from nursery :)

Pleasantly surprised by a bouquet of flowers from Chester

Comments from Isaac

You after eating food that you like
'It's all in my stomach, MMMMmmmmmm!!!!' and then rubs your tummy

Me: Are you a little boy?
You:  No, Isaac a big boy!
Me: OK, big boys watch news on TV ok?
You:  No, Isaac little boy now, want watch Octanauts

Pointing to Richard
'Dada is a BIG 'he', mummy is a BIG 'she''

After you have been naughty and I raise my voice
You: Mummy I love you, mummy I love you (and then cups my face).  I'm sorry.. Mummy I love you
How do I get angry with you?  And your daddy tells me that you never 'bully' him and always listens to him.

Your carers report that this is what you tell them
You: Isaac no need sleep in afternoon

While admiring some flowers in someone's garden, I said to Richard in Cantonese while pointing to the flowers
Me: 'Hui jong ka fa gei leng'
You: 'That is not 'jong' Mummy, that is 'flowers'!
How in the world am I going to teach you Cantonese or Mandarin?

After picking you up from nursery, I asked 'Did you play in the 'garden' today?'
There must have been a slip of pronunciation as this was your reply
'Mummy, garden is outside, Gordon is a train!!'
