Surprise visitors from Malaysia

This is the first time your gong gong and popo made such a last minute trip to UK. They bought the tickets on the Thursday and flew that Sunday itself to arrive on the same day :) They really must have missed you.. Hopefully they had a good holiday too as we sure had a good time.

Some things that we did:
Annual kite festival in Wirral

Loving the bell on the train in the fun fair

Taking strolls and getting swung while walking

We then spent a week in London (I went along as I had a course there), visited your friend Isaac also, and you went to the London zoo without me (boy, you've been there before your mummy and daddy)

Your idea of a big fishes - penguins

The farewell game of peek-a-boo was fantastic, thankfully there was no crying involved this time

Malaysian tummy

We have a reason for the diarrhoea after our holiday back in Malaysia - Salmonella :) Probably a stomach of steel now??

Facial Injury

My little 'hooligan'
You had your worst accident in nursery so far. Your carers called me in the afternoon to say that someone pushed you in the outside play area, you fell, and had a few scratches to your face. They wanted to warn me about the scratches so that I would not get a shock when I picked you up. They definitely underplayed the scratches!! I was in shock when I picked you up (it looked worse in real life than in the photos). Obviously I asked them to be more careful and they apologised profusely. But, I suppose accidents do happen everywhere, even when I take care of you, and have to accept that you're a boy and probably will have lots of battle-scars.

Then, this week, you came home with another scratch/cut, this time on the left side.

By the time I completed this in July, you still have a small scar on the side of your face. In the span of that month, you had 4 accidents. Why? How? But, the funny thing is how your carers always say to me or richard when we pick you up now: 'no accidents today'!!

First Birthday Party Invite

3 weeks ago, you attended your friend's 2nd birthday party. It was the first of its kind for you and you had a good time, especially with the bubble making machine. It was probably like 'nursery time' for you coz there were games, and food, and other kids your age, except there was the bonus of having all the 'mummies and daddies' around.

PS: this post was started in May, and then completed only in July

New words

You have learnt a few more words and are starting to say 2 words together. In the last month, some of the new words are: door, star, car, ball, up, down(your favourite), and mummy, and you love to say 'no more', 'more star' and 'more please'. All in all, I think you can say about 20 or so words.. Still a little slow, but at least it's something :)

Evening tantrums

Since we came back to the UK, it has been a nightmare trying to prepare you for bed. First, you will refuse to go downstairs, then refuse to get changed and bathe, demonstrated by the loudest screams and kicks. WHY?? You used to LOVE bath time. Now, we dread the end of the day when we will always have this bedtime battle. Do you not like your new room? Are you not wanting the day to end? Is this the beginning of terrible twos? Are you just learning to be difficult?

We have tried all sorts of 'tricks', and the one that seems to work is asking you to bath your bathtoy animals. I really hope this is a phase and will pass soon.
